Logistics

Starting in early 2004, we have developed 3 web-based database solutions for the Logistics and Transportation sector using Microsoft .NET and SQL Server technologies.Intermec

Apex WMS v1.0 - Warehouse Management System

  • Apex WMS is a web solution for the warehousing and distribution management of product received from many manufacturing sources and shipped to many consignees.
  • This transactional system tracks stock on 4 levels: product, location (in the warehouse), lot number, and original incoming shipment.
  • This application is a simplified WMS which provides complete and instant visibility of the warehouse.
  • The worry of inventory outages is virtually eliminated with the live tracking of incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • This secure software system is built on Microsoft ASP.NET 2.0, incorporating other Microsoft technologies such as AJAX, Microsoft SQL Server 2005, and SQL Server Reporting Services 2005. This ensures system availability and ease of retrieving the information needed about the flow of product throughout the application.

Loadmaster v2.0
- Freight Brokerage - Order Tracking & Invoicing

  • Freight brokerage, shipment tracking, and billing system built with SQL Server 2005, Reporting Services, and ASP .NET 3.5.
  • Designed so that several offices can share common data.
  • Administrators can report on aggregate data from multiple locations.

Apex LMS v3.0
- Logistics Management System - Shipment Tracking and Routing (3PL)

  • Apex LMS enables a logistics company to monitor large shipments from a manufacturer’s (customer’s) warehouse to a DC (Distribution Center), and then manage the distribution of smaller shipments to retail destinations. This is done with FTP data transfers between the manufacturer’s server computer and an LMS Server at the DC. Supply chain
  • Using Microsoft SQL Server 2008, the system can automatically consolidate orders with common destinations and assign the cheapest shipping rates in less than sixty seconds. This saves a lot of time for Freight Auditors who would normally use an Excel-based or paper-based system.
  • A Microsoft .NET web interface allows authorized users to securely query shipment data by date, manifest, and shipment method from anywhere with an Internet connection and a web browser.
  • Shipment details and live carton/piece tracking is available by drilling down into a shipment.
  • Piece and pallet traceability via barcode labels which can be printed from any location to any warehouse.
  • Custom web-based reports are available using Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS). These accurate reports can be easily exported to several of the most popular formats including Excel.
  • Using one or more Intermec CK3 Windows Mobile (PDA) devices all carton barcodes are scanned as received and shipped.
  • The PDAs use a wireless network to communicate live with the SQL Server in the warehouse.
  • RFID integration and Bluetooth printing are both possible enhancements.
